Revealed: the world’s best golf courses

Condé Nast Traveler magazine has revealed the results of its Fourteenth Readers’ Choice Survey, pinpointing the best golf resorts in the world.

The US magazine’s readers chose the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea at the best golf resort of all 80 contenders, with a winning average of 96 percent.  Scores were calculated on the basis of thousands of readers’ votes for course design and access, golf staff and services, rooms, service, food/dining, location and overall design.

Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort (pictured above) in South Carolina took second place, followed by the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii.

Four Seasons properties accounted for all four of the top courses in Hawaii with the Four Seasons Resort Lāna‘i, The Lodge at Koele ranked third and Four Seasons Resort Lāna‘i at Manele Bay ranked fourth in Hawaii.

“We are thrilled to have all four of our Hawaiian resorts recognised by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler with the prestigious ‘Top Golf Resorts’ honor.

Our guests’ comments and experiences are extremely important to us and we will continue to strive to exceed their expectations with every visit,” commented Thomas Steinhauer, the general manager of Four Seasons Resort Maui.

Outside of the US, Esperanza at Cabo San Lucas in Mexico was ranked top, with Ireland’s Dromoland Castle (below) in second place.
