London’s Black Cabs have come out top in a quality survey of taxi services in the world’s biggest cities.
Fifty-
Taxis in Berlin came in fourth place, while Bangkok’s Tuk Tuks came fifth, jumping
from seventh place in last year’s survey.
Respondents said that London drivers were
both the most knowledgeable and the nicest in the world, beating those in Paris and
New York, who were considered the least nice.
Taxi drivers in Rome were voted the world’s worst in terms of driving, while New York taxis were seen as the most readily available.

Swedish driver faces $1 million fine for speeding

Police in Switzerland said on monday they had seized a Swedish motorist’s $240,000 sports car after he was caught doing 290 kph on a Swiss motorway.
The 37-
With a speed limit of 120 kph (70 mph), the driver swept by a permanent speed trap but was spotted by local police.
He was immediately arrested and turned over to the police in the western canton of Fribourg.
Authorities said the man could be facing up to $1 million Swiss francs ($962,000) for his speeding offense.
A local magistrate ordered police to keep the car as security pending a likely court ruling and an eventual sentence.

Forbes keeps releasing top paid personalities. This time around it issued the top ten highest paid authors for the year.
On the top of the list is James Patterson, the thriller novel writer is runaway winner earning 70 million dollars. Nine out of his many works have already been adapted either in television or film.

Vampire romance author Stephenie Meyer ranks second this year. Her Twilight series has become such a juggernaut that despite not releasing a new title in 2009, she earned $40 million over the year.
Stephen King placed third on the list with $34 million, while Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling languishes in last place with a measly $10 million.
Forbes based the rankings on profits from books, TV and film rights between June, 2009 and June, 2010.

Bonhams to Sell Elvis Presley’s Mercedes-

A Mercedes-
One of only a handful of cars that Presley registered in his name, the Mercedes-
Presley kept the car, which was one of two 600 Mercedes he owned, for two years before giving it to a friend, James Leroy Robertson.
It was purchased by the vendor in 2005 from Robertson Motors Memphis, and exported to the UK.
