Far away from the world of Forumla One, Jarno Trulli’s traditional vineyard Podere Castorani now produces 800,000 bottles a year and 26 different wines which regularly win prizes around the world.
Situated in the province of Pescara, not far from the Adriatic coast, this luxuriant and unpolluted farm is maintained by the hard work and meticulous care which guarantee a wine's splendid quality and unique character. From these idyllic surroundings, the Podere Castorani team cultivate vines using biological agricultural methods, instead of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, to produce small batches of high quality wines, mainly from Montepulciano D'Abruzzo grapes.
As well as a splendid quality of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, a bottle of “Podere Castorani”
has a long and unique history, which is continuing thanks to the dedicated efforts
of the Podere Castorani team. The vineyard comprises 30 hectares of land planted
predominantly with grapevines of the montepulciano d’abruzzo, trebbiano d’abruzzo,
malvasia and a small area reserved for experimental varieties. As the average age
of vineyards is over twenty-
Since the 2000 vintage, the oldest and best exposed vineyards have been selected to vinificate small batches of high quality wine.
